Sheena Bonaise is a Nigerian-American surface pattern designer creating wallpaper and textile designs inspired by global craft traditions, heritage textiles, and modern interiors.
Originally from Chicago, she studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, where her interest in pattern, color, and cultural storytelling began to take shape. Her work draws inspiration from vintage block prints, indigenous African design traditions, and global decorative arts, blending historical references with contemporary color palettes and pattern structures.
Influences from artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Faith Ringgold can be seen in her approach to expressive mark-making, layered pattern, and cultural narrative. The result is a body of work that balances traditional craftsmanship with a modern design sensibility.
Her patterns are developed with interior applications in mind and are well suited for wallpaper, textiles, and home décor.
Selected designs are available for licensing and collaboration.
Additional collections and lookbooks are available upon request.
